The liquid fruit is processed in such a way that product can be held at room temperature (on the shelf) without any fear of spoilage or quality degradation. Once opened, you need to refrigerate and use within 5 days.
This is one of the more common questions that we are asked. The facts are that India is the 2nd largest Agri economy is the world growing over 300 million metric tonnes of fruit and veg alone but its value-add processed food export sector is microscopic compared to its total production output. We, at Pente Vuna, see fantastic opportunity to change this by presenting some of India’s best produce to the rest of the world. We add to this that the product we are supplying has come out of independently internationally accredited food audited facilities. The main facility we use is BRC AA rated which in food safety world, is about as good as you can get. On top of this, the owners of Pente Vuna have 30+ years of experience in processing food in Australia, Europe, SE Asia and now South Asia and literally live amongst the communities, farmers and processors that produce this product.
So many products today are full of unhealthy additives. We offer products that are as close to natural as possible.
Our fruit is processed fully ripe unlike IQF that is in most cases, processed semi mature. You’ll notice increased colour, flavour and sweetness across our entire range. In addition to this, our products are more economical and convenient to freight, store and manage.
The owners of Pente Vuna while being Aussies, live in South Asia. They have an aim to work with small subsistent farmers from this region with a view to creating improved outcomes for these farmers, especially for fruit that can’t be sold into the fresh market.
Pente Vuna has strong links to India because its founders are originally Aussies who relocated to rural India in 2017. Because of their background in food processing, they have it on their heart to support subsistent rural communities by processing their fruit that would otherwise be wasted. Right now, India wastes 16% of the fruit ex-farm and returns for farmers are meagre at best. There is huge room for export development for processing grade fruit ex-India in what is the largest tropical fruit producing nation in the world.
The packaging system we use was developed by a USA packaging company and the filler/sealer we use is made in Japan. This packaging system in pouches as hot-fill is flexible in the range from 1.5-5kg. Of course, packing a unique size for your needs will depend on the volumes you require. Typically FCL lots would be required to make it worthwhile to introduce another size. In addition to this, we will have 50g (in hot filled sachet for portion control applications-this will be packed in Italy), 20 aseptic litre Bag-in-box plus we can also look at 200-220 litre for B2B clients. This product is expected to come on line in mid 2023.
